So, What makes Mothers & More different?
Mothers & More is dedicated to supporting all the work that moms do and to accomplish that our chapter is committed to providing a wide variety of activities. We plan activities that are child-based and events that focus on mothers as individuals. The MNO's (Mom's Night Out) events are as much a part of our chapter activities as are the children's events, playgroups, etc.
Check out a sample Calendar (calendar
link) and you will see that
our Calendar team strives to provide a wide variety of
children's events. Large & small playgroups, age-based
playgroups, outings to local points of interest, event-based
activities and periodic family events.
The Calendar team also works with the membership to
determine the type of MNO's that are most in demand. We try
to schedule at least 1 Mom's Night Out a week. None of our
members attend all the MNO events and some members don't go
to any of the MNO's but it is central to who we are as a
group to provide the opportunity for our mom's to be
celebrate their individuality and enjoy the company of other
mothers in a relaxed, fun-filled setting.
Book Club, Game Night, Movie Night and Monthly
Meetings some of the are a great ways for members to connect
and grow friendships. Life changes when children join our
lives, they add so much to our lives even as we provide for
them. Mothers & More is dedicated to creating a space where
the needs of the mother, the woman, the individual are also
provided for.
Our membership is is composed primarily of mothers
approximately 25 - 45 years old. Military families &
Civilian Families, Relos & Locals. Moms who have left the
paid work-force, moms who work PT or FT, from home or in a
traditional setting, the situations are as varied as our
membership. Members live in and around the Summerville/North
Charleston area and at least 15 different neighborhoods are
represented! The greatest majority of mothers have children
younger than elementary school but many have older children.
Home-schooled, Faith-based, Public or Private education it's
all here and Chapter Leadership is committed to providing a
supportive, accepting environment for all our members. The
differences help to bring us together and give us
perspective.
The National Organization provides a multitude of
opportunities to support the advocacy work it does as well
as volunteer opportunities for those members who would like
to support the organization on a national level. For more
